Sourcing and Recruiting In A Down Market

By Cade Krueger

Recruiters can do so well in sourcing job candidates, but it comes down to implementing some solid techniques that will make a big difference in separating yourself from your competition. If you can do that then you will find a way to be successful in a difficult economy.

A good job description for any potential job candidate needs to have some level of a wow factor in order to impress the person viewing the description so that way they make the decision to find out more. It needs to define the projects, the impact, and the potential future with the company.

Figure out who your candidate is and what they like because that will help you sort through a lot of pointless resumes. One of the best things you can do is to not judge your candidates by their resumes, but to look at how they act in your interactions with them. The best candidates usually don't have their resume prepared because they are not used to having to look for jobs.

You have to be a great interviewer and I am sure that you have seen hiring managers not ask the right questions. It becomes so significant to be able to understand your candidate and use questions that will help them understand for themselves that it is worthwhile to work with you and that their future will be bright.

You have to know how to be able to close the deal when it comes to recruiting or else you lose your job and it is as simple as that. You have to help them very clearly see that this is going to benefit you and their is no option but to talk with me to find out a little more about it.

It is important that as you create a bold approach that your candidates and hiring managers are able to see clearly that you are a valued asset to their future. The better you are at this then the more candidates will listen to you and the more hiring managers will trust your recommendations.

It is significant to get technology involved like TalentSeekr from EnticeLabs, but that can only take you half way. You need to be good on the phone and understand how to communicate well with your clients.

These steps will get you started and as you keep pushing forward you will find how to tweak your recruiting to increase your closing percentage. Focus hard on your skill set and you will be confident and successful in any situation. - 16039
