Tips To Micromanage Your Adwords Campaign

By Brian Basch

Everywhere you look there are advertisements. All of them are boasting about people making 100's of dollars by using Adwords to sell products. Added to this is the fact that they are only spending 2-3 hours per day. These ads want to persuade you that this is the norm and you too can easily make 100's per day by "just flipping on the switch of your computer.

What they fail to tell you is the fact that working just 2-3 hours a day is not the norm. In fact few people can perfect this type of regime. There are just too many things to take care of, especially if you are new to the game. In fact no other promotion requires as much micro-management as an Adwords campaign.

Bear in mind a few points. Your initial keywords will be found by using Google's database of frequently searched keywords. Then you will compile a second list of keywords that you think are relevant to your business. Then you will compare the 2 lists.

Now that you have all your keywords ready, it is time to start bidding on them. Of course just writing an email to Google asking their permission to use a keyword in exchange for a fee is not going to work. Google has a better way of handling this. Google will place ads in certain positions, those that are in the top will be viewed more and will obviously bring in better returns for both parties.

Adwords is a type of pay per click. Whenever somebody clicks through on your ad you will pay a small fee. You will be paying even if you do not make any sales. Google will make more money when the click through rate is high. The better the bid the higher the ad's position.

After you have finished the bidding procedure and you ad is functioning, pay special attention to your keywords. Remember that keyword popularity can come and go. What is popular today may not be popular a month or so from now. Keywords that are unpopular will not bring in the traffic and sales.

You may not become a millionaire by working on your Google Adwords campaign for just few hours per day. However you will become an expert at multi tasking and micromanaging your campaign. As you learn more you will very likely find that Adwords will indeed bring in profits for your business.

So take advantage of all the great tutorials and tools that Google Adwords provides and you will soon become an expert in micromanagement. Once you do this you will be able to spend less time on your campaigns and more time on making a success of your business. - 16039
